Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0 (TSIA2)
The TSIA2 measures the ability of students, as indicated by their skills in English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) and Mathematics, to do college-level course work. If you do not meet any TSIA2 exemption requirements and are pursuing an Associate’s Degree program, even for transfer classes, you will need to take the TSIA2 test.
For a complete list of TSIA2 Assessment Test preparation instructions, please download the TSIA2 Checklist which includes campus locations and contact information for all NCTC Testing Centers.
Students who demonstrate deficiencies in any of these areas will be required to enroll in at least one College Preparatory Course each semester until they have completed and passed all required remediation courses with a "C" or better.
Taking the TSIA2
Are you exempt?
Check the exemption list to see if you are required to take the TSIA2 test.
Study & Practice
Whether you schedule and pay for you test before or after, it will benefit you to study and practice for the test. Get the study app or use practice resources to make sure you’re prepared for the test.
* Be sure when downloading to go to the TSIA2 Study App, NOT the Accuplacer App, as they are two different tests.
Pre-Assessment Activity
The TSI Pre-Assessment Activity will help you understand the importance of the TSI, how to best prepare for taking this exam, and what resources are available to help you make a successful transition to NCTC. Proof of completion of the Pre-Assessment Activity is required before scheduling a TSI exam at any NCTC campus.
Please print your Pre-Assessment Activity completion e-mail to show in person when you are scheduling your TSI test, or forward the e-mail to the appropriate Testing Center contact based on the campus at which you are scheduling the TSI.
Schedule & Pay for Your Test
We’re excited to offer online scheduling for your TSIA2, Accuplacer College-Level Mathematics and CLEP (Gainesville campus only) testing needs at your preferred campus through the NCTC RegisterBlast portal.
Bowie and Graham Campus Testing Centers will schedule via direct email.
