NCTC Student Success Center Receives CRLA Certification for Tutor Training

North Central Texas College is pleased to announce that the NCTC Student Success Center has been awarded certification as a Level I, II, and III certified tutor training program by the internationally recognized College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). This certification is effective from August 1, 2024, to July 31, 2028.

For more than thirty years, CRLA has been a leader in learning assistance, reading, and academic support programs, with nearly 1,300 members and 2,000 certified training programs worldwide.

 “The NCTC Student Success Center has worked diligently to develop a tutor training program that meets CRLA’s rigorous standards and has successfully completed the International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC) peer review process led by Cheryl Capuchina, Tutor Services Coordinator and CRLA Assistant Coordinator. Achieving this certification means that North Central Texas College has met CRLA’s high standards for tutor selection, training, direct services, and evaluation as an integral part of their overall tutoring program.
