Keep the following in mind when you get an aid offer and are deciding which aid is the best to accept:

• Free money first (e.g. scholarships, grants)

• Earned money second (e.g. work-study)

• Borrowed money last (e.g. federal student loans)

You may not be selected for verification, but if you are don’t assume you’re being accused of doing anything wrong. Some people are selected for verification at random. If you are selected, you can submit your documents through your Financial Aid Portal.
