  • Describe the main characteristics of the sun such as size, mass, density, luminosity, and spectrum.

  • Define and apply basic astronomical concepts.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the basic laws of physics including gravity and apply them to the bodies of the solar system.

  • Compare and contrast the characteristics and properties of the terrestrial and outer planets.
